Spring 2020 Seasons Cancelled

ZANESVILLE ARSENAL AND ROSA CANCELLING SPRING 2020 SEASON

LOOKING FORWARD TO FALL 2020 and SPRING 2021

 

 

                On Monday, April 27, 2020, the Arsenal and ROSA Board of Directors voted to cancel the Spring 2020 season for all teams.  This decision was made following the recent releases from Ohio South Youth Soccer, MOSSL and BPYSL cancelling their seasons and Spring and Summer programming for 2020.  The Arsenal and ROSA Board determined that it would follow the lead of those governing organizations.  As a result, parents and players should know the following:

             

 

REFUNDS OR CREDITS FOR 2020 Season

The Board voted at the same meeting to provide 100% refunds to both the U19 Womens and U19 Mens teams as most players on those teams will exit the club before their next possible season due to age.  Those refunds will be processed and returned automatically to the address listed in the Club’s records.  For all other players, the parent reps will be in contact with their teams and will give the following options to the parents 1) a full refund of all fees paid to the Club for the Spring 2020 season; OR 2) a parent may request a credit for all fees paid toward the next season to be played by the child.  For Spring only teams, this credit will move to Spring 2021. Parent reps will be in contact and will pass the information on to the Club treasurer who will then issue appropriate refunds or credits directly to the address listed in the Club records and to the parent who is listed as the main contact in the Club’s records.  Parents will be responsible to advise the parent rep if the parent in the contact is not the one who should receive any refund and provide appropriate information to the parent rep at that time.  We will not be sending refunds back through STACK sports but issuing them directly.

 

ROSA will be issuing refunds for any fees paid for the Spring 2020 recreational league.

 

Refunds will be issued as quickly as possible, but all will be based on information provided by parent reps.  Contacting the Club treasurer, Director of Coaching, or board members directly will not expedite the refund process.  When possible, one check will be issued for families with multiple players and the procedure of how to issue checks will be at the discretion of the Treasurer.

 

Tryouts for the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 Season

Information regarding tryouts and rostering for the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 season will be forthcoming.  The Board has discussed multiple alternatives but feels it is prudent to wait to see what the State of Ohio does in the coming weeks with the recent announcement beginning to reopen the State starting 5/1/2020.  We are also watching for guidance from OSYSA, MOSSL and BPYSL with regard to tryout guidelines so we the club does not violate governing by-laws set by OSYSA.

 

Fall 2020 Season

We will continue to provide updates as information is provided by OSYSA, MOSSL and BPYSL.  At this point, we are hopeful that there will be a Fall 2020 season.  We will provide information as soon as it becomes available.

 

Again, parent reps and/or coaches will be contacting you regarding refunds or credits in the near future and they will be processed as soon and as quickly as possible.  The Board was disappointed to have to make this decision, but felt that there was no alternative after reviewing the options.  The safety and health of our parents and players are the most important thing right now and we are hoping to get back to normal operations in the Fall of 2020.
